Instructions:

  • Read all the questions carefully, and write/draw concise and clear responses to all six questions.

  • When reporting your responses, ensure that all responses are original and free from plagiarism.

  • Applicants must ensure that all ideas and concepts presented in the Statement of Purpose (SoP) and Design Tasks are original. The use of AI tools for content generation is highly discouraged and may lead to disqualification.

  • The page size is A4 (210 mm x 297 mm), Arial, 11 pt, line spacing 1.15, left aligned, one-inch margin on all sides. At he top of the first page, fill in the following details.

  •       iii. CEED Roll number (mandatory only for full-time regular seats):

  • Upload the SoP and Design Tasks (as a single PDF, less than 10 MB) and Portfolio (less than 10 MB) using the link: https://forms.gle/nUFpr2i2os2waPid8 after filling out the IITJ application form.

Questions:

1. Describe a moment when you realised the potential of XR. It could be from a movie, a

game, an event, or an experience. How did it inspire you? What specific aspect of XR

excites you the most, and why do you want to pursue it at IIT Jodhpur? (250 words) [10

marks]


2. Think of a real-world problem that could be solved or improved using XR. How would you

design a solution? If you are new to XR, how do you imagine XR could help in solving

problems? (250 words with supporting sketches) [10 marks]


3. Imagine a VR experience that helps users learn or explore something in a way they

couldn’t in real life. It could be a VR space tour, a historical time travel app, an immersive

language-learning world, or even a VR mental wellness space.

  • Show a storyboard sequence of this VR experience. It should include the

    beginning of the experience, an interaction, a key learning moment and the

    endpoint of the experience.

  • Illustrate (sketch) a key scene from the VR experience (e.g., what a user sees in

    the headset, the interface, or a specific interaction).

4. Imagine an AR app that makes everyday tasks easier, more fun, or more informative. It

could be an AR fitness coach, a travel guide that overlays information on real-world

landmarks, or an AR cooking assistant.

    interaction moment within the experience.

  • What makes this AR app valuable compared to traditional ways of doing the

5. Imagine a Mixed Reality (MR) application that helps to train a car mechanic. The app

should feature real time assistance and step-by-step training modules.

  • Show a storyboard sequence of this MR experience.Explain the application

    scenario with two separate components: Real-time assistance through a Mixed

    Reality (MR) connected experience and step-by-step training modules.

  • What unique or innovative feature does this app include to make it highly efficient

    for trainees? (150 words - key points in a bulleted list)
